Bariloche is a beautiful town located in Patagonia, near the Andes, surrounded by mountains and transparent lakes. Bariloche is an all-season destination ideal for outdoor enthusiast. Summer sports on the various lakes in the region, hiking and trekking, climbing, fishing, kayaking, horseback touring, bicycle tours and other warm weather activities draw visitors to the region as much as the winter ski season does. Cerro Catedral, is the international ski center and has its peak season from July to first days of September.
The city itself is considered fairly quiet. Like any good ski town however, it does have its fair share of clubs and popular bars and in the late afternoon the streets are full of shoppers and those who have just returned from hiking or an afternoon of skiing. Besides the natural allure of Bariloche, the city is famous for its chocolate and small coffee and chocolate shops can be found on nearly every corner.
