Iguazu falls or Cataratas del Iguazú as it is called in Spanish is one of the world’s largest waterfalls and top destinations in Argentina. The falls are considered as one of the main world’s natural shows and in 1985 UNESCO declared them “World Heritage Centre”.
The falls are shared between Argentina and Brazil, as the Iguazu River is at the border of these two countries. They extend over 2,700 m in a semi-circular shape. Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguazu falls, “Devil’s Throat” is the tallest at 80 m in height.
Apart from waterfalls, the jungle offers a series of alternatives in a dump but slightly fresher environment with a wide variety of animals and plants. Almost 500 species of wild fowl, 80 species of mammals and an immense variety of reptiles, fish, insects and butterflies live in this ecosystem.
The Falls can be visited from Argentina and from Brazil, however it is advisible to make both visits.
